EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Serena has grown up exploring Idaho’s backcountry. From rafting the Salmon River to biking the Boise foothills, Serena can be most often found out exploring our local wild spaces. She is excited to share her experience and knowledge with Idaho’s next generation of explorers because she knows first-hand how the outdoors can build confidence, resilience, community, and creativity in young girls. Serena holds a BA in both International Relations and in Spanish from the University of Denver. She brings her experience running a non-profit foster home and a STEM mobile learning lab to Wild Hearts Idaho to support place-based leadership education that builds confident young leaders ready to take on the world! Her favorite local outdoor adventure is ski touring Mores Mountain on a powder day.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Having spent the majority of her life in Idaho, Gabby has come to identify herself as a programs designer, an outdoor educator, a raft guide, a backpacker, and an activist. Gabby has discovered over time that she is most at home in nature, and for her, there is no better feeling than rafting and kayaking whitewater rapids, exploring new mountain trails, or skiing stellar slopes. These lived adventures lent to her personal discovery and philosophy that outdoor experiences sit at the core of personal development and creative ideation and solidify our innate connection to the more-than-human that surrounds us. She wants her life’s work to embody and inspire these ideals in the natural places that afford us such transformative opportunities through accessible, educational, and experiential means. And she wants to do it with and for women and girls. 

With her recent Master’s in Outdoor Education & Leadership, tenacity for coordinating outdoor programs, and deep Idaho roots, Gabby is excited and honored to contribute to the Wild Hearts adventure.
